Peter Wyse, a Sobey Art Award nominee, was born in 1970 (The Year of the Dog) in Kamloops, British Columbia.

His work is now featured in private collections throughout the world.

A portfolio of his work is displayed with Visual Lightbox which is set up with an FTP connection, allowing the client to make changes independently. I recently added a "mobile friendly," abridged version to provide an appropriate landing page for smartphones and other small screens.

Captain Eric Blackburn established the World Kids Voyage when he began his voyage in the 90's. His intention was to sail around the world in his homemade craft, “Chickadee” providing humanitarian aid along the way. This site was originally set up to document the voyage which ended at Nicaragua. However, his humanitarian efforts continued well past the end of his voyage.

This site makes extensive use of Frames and Flash. Frames was popular at the time and used to control page layout. All of the graphics--including the unique menu--are original and where created in Flash.

HjDalley Web Design & Hosting features an intereactive, 3D Carousal from Flashmo to display websites while enjoying (or not) some background music tracks by my favourite guitar group from the past...The Shadows.

At one time a "Flash" website was considered an advantage, but since Apple eliminated Flash from it's mobile products this is now a questionable way to build a website. I later built a "noflash" version just to see if I could mimic the original without the need for Flash.

Captain Eric Blackburn has a long history of humanitarian work in Nicaragua. The World Kids Voyage was the beginning of a long relationship with the people of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. He met his wife there and stayed for many years helping the impoverished community build schools, sewing centres and more.

At one time Eric had up to five websites--some very relevant to his work, some to promote other hopeful projects. World Kids Voyage eventually became World Kids Foundation. Both these sites can be viewed here along with these others:

Lily's Hobo Bags is a not-for-profit project. 80% of total sales goes to support Plan Canada Gifts of Hope. The "Gifts of Hope" program is helping women and girls in impoverished countries build a better future for themselves and their families.

This is a basic site to help promote Lily's project. Sample bags are displayed with Visual Lightbox. A CMS (Content Management System) enables the client to update ongoing Events and Gifts Purchased.

Farthingale Playhouses are circular playhouses made of heavy cotton material. The inside height is approximately 6 feet and the diameter is about 4 feet with no interior support.

This is a basic site constructed primarily with Tables, but makes use of Pop-up windows and Tabs to display additional content. Items were made available through a PayPal link (removed).

Surrey Neighbouring Faiths Program was a free, multifaith program for families of children aged 4-6 years. The Program encouraged children to value their own cultural, ethnic, and religious identities. Further, it offered experiences for children to learn to respect and appreciate other peoples’ identities, and to feel a sense of belonging in the broader community.

This site is my first use of the "Accordian" (menu) and a unique, extensive photo viewer.

The Urban Green was a member of the Canadian Cohousing Network (CCN), a national, non-profit society that promotes the creation of cohousing communities by raising public awareness about cohousing and by bringing people together to form communities.

This basic site was to give this organization a simple online presence and help to promote their cohousing project.

This experiment was an early attempt to create a simple online store with hopes of selling a few of the items we had at the time.

All Star Reader was a highly successful incentive program aimed at improving students active and meaningful participation in any reading program: shared reading, silent reading, one-on-one, reading club, or any computerized reading program such as Accelerated Reader ® by Renaissance Learning.

I developed this program as a method to encourage participation and track student success with the Accelerated Reader program which I initiated when serving as Teacher/Librarian at Elementary School. The program was a huge success and was implimented in a number of other schools. The program continued at Haldane for many years after I retired...and might be continuing today.

Version 1: Haldane Elementary School was where web designing all started for me. In 1996 I hand coded Version 1. This winner of the Vancouver Province SuperSite award is built with Frames and features an original Java Script Navigation Slider.

Version 2: This provided quick access to search engines when students were just beginning to use computers and made more information about our school and programs available to students and parents alike. The hawk icon was developed in response to the new sports theme: Haldane Hawks.

Version 3: Shown here, introduced a current events RSS feed and a new, animated Flash banner. The Cardtables, Java Checkers and Web Quest are still functional.
